All I can say is if there is ever another Hollywood premiere for a View Askew flick I sure hope that I get to go to that one too.
OK, I can say a lot more but I don’t want to come off as a guy who is tooting his own horn. The fact that I got to go is a fluke but I’m damn glad for the fluke.
Folks, it was pure fun. I was kind of uptight about going to this kind of thing because it just isn’t my scene. Most of Hollywood isn’t
actually. This area, the people trying to get into entertainment, and the people in the Hollywierd scene are all about fitness, appearance, and who can do what for me. I’m not really about that (especially the fitness and appearance part). For this reason alone I was kind of dreading going to the premiere.
Thankfully the event was apparently organized by someone of a like mind to myself. The catering for the lot party afterwards consisted of nice crappy snacks, In n Out Burger and an Ice Cream Sundae bar. There were plenty of diner like boothe’s set up all around and even some dart boards and pool tables. This, my friends, was my kind of party.
Now I have to also admit that I’m not one real big on going up to a famous person and saying something to them. It was fun to look at all the “names” walking around, and even better when I was able to talk to a few and have a good time doing so. The thing that I enjoyed the most was that most of them were just as cool as can be and didn’t mind at all spending the time talking to some yutz like me.
I think the thing though that really told the tale for me was discovering that for most of the party Kevin Smith himself was actually
standing outside of the big party in the area by the restrooms. It wasn’t really his scene either and he wasn’t basking in the lime light. Heck, I almost kind of felt like he was there because he had to be.
By the way, be sure to check out the movie on the 24th.
If you’ve seen any of the other movies I am telling you now prepare to be impressed by Jason Mewes. This guy has actually got some acting chops. Look out Hollywood.
