Recently I did something very very very stupid. It’s the kind of thing that really no one wants to admit to doing and just hates themselves for doing it. Don’t bother asking how because the whole thing is just kind of a blur in my head. All I know is that somehow, someway I stepped on my laptop. Man, sounds even stupider when I have to go back and read it after typing it.
Now there are good things and bad things about this. The good side of the incident is that my USB port will finally be fixed and I won’t have to use a PS/2 to USB converter to use an external mouse (man, no matter how you try to dress it up it still just sounds geeky). The bad side is that I broke the LCD and those aren’t cheap to fix.
There is another little benefit of having done this incredibly stupid thing. Right now I’m typing this on the laptop that I never use that was allocated to me through work (comes with the job). It’s a nice laptop, about the same speed as my old one. Close to the same weight as my old one too. The coolest thing about it, though, is the keyboard.
I know that last statement is kind of an odd one though but for some reason I’m really fond of the way a good keyboard feels on a decent laptop. If I ever sit down to write I do it better on a laptop for some reason, and if the keyboard is a real good one (like the one I’m using now) for some reason the barriers are broken down and I’m able to do oh so much more.
This keyboard, for example is exceptionally soft to the touch and makes very little noise when you type. The keys just kind of cushion back right at you in a very soft and gentle way. When you press down the experience is almost pleasing to the fingertips in a way that no one should think a keyboard can be.
Yes, that’s right, the keyboard on this laptop is something I could just rant and rave on about for half the time of forever. Thankfully for your eyes I won’t do that.
