Actually there was absolutely nothing manic about it. I did, however, have a job interview.

Now, I’m not really comfortable with interviewing any more. It has been a very long time since I’ve actually had to go through a formal interview process. As a matter of fact I haven’t had to do this since 1996. You see, I am now at the end of a very long string of jobs that I have literally just fallen in to. When I started doing work for The Produce Exchange many many moons ago I first just pitched them what it would take for me to do their web site. After that one thing led to another and I was the IS Manager. No big deal.

From their I started doing all that fun stuff over at PlayTV in 1999. Once again, a formal interview never really happened. First I started doing a show at the behest of Alex Bennett. From their I did a trade show for Play, and then the next thing you know I’m in jobsville baby.

In 2000 a good friend of Aaron Lockhart’s knew a guy that was hiring for a place called Comedy World. I believe my “interview” was done in a coffee shop in Berkeley and it mostly involved being told what the concept was and next thing I know they are just finding a place for me. Sweet deal. Very easy.

So, now here in the year 2001 amongst a nasty ass economy and a slightly flooded job market I have to break out the charm and figure out how to sell people on my skills. I have to say it isn’t fun. The interviews so far that I have had have been good but nothing yet. So, I send the resumes, watch the phone, stare at the clock, and write journal entries.

I don’t like the new millenium!
