I know that those words could, conceivably, come back to haunt me
some day but I really doubt it and it is just how I feel. It just seems
that Leno has horrible jokes, a crappy interview style (or lack there of) and
he is just mediocre! Carson was never mediocre. Carson, even when he wasn’t “on”
was still the shit. Leno is just talk show light. He doesn’t get in anyone’s face and most of the time I get the feeling his guests just think, “The publicist said I had to do this so I will.”
I can already hear some of you say, “Just don’t watch Leno Will.” Under ordinary
circumstances I would agree andjust wouldn’t watch him. Sometimes though I don’t
have much of a choice. Let me explain.
When my lovely wife and I moved in to our new house we determined that the room next to
our master bedroom would be the home office. Since I have DirecTV in the bedroom I figured
that while I was wiring a phone jack in to the room might as well put in a bridge
connection with the satellite into the office so I could ignore the TV while I work in here
(even though I have yet to really do any “work” outside of looking for a job). Now, this
is fine when I can just stand up with the remote control and point it into the bedroom door
to change the channel. It sucks when my lovely wife goes to bed before me and I can’t get in
there to change the channel. Usually when this happens Leno is what is on. Happens every time, I just can’t figure
out the weird powers at work on this.
So some time in the future (when I find work presumably) I’ll probably break down and get one
of those remote control repeaters that will carry your remote control signal from room
to room. If it means I never have to look at Jay Leno while he is doing his
show it will be worth every single penny.
