I hope I don’t alienate myself by admiting that I love Disneyland. I don’t know why. It’s where my lovely wife and I went on our honeymoon. Its where we’ve gone quite a few times on our anniversary. I just love the place.
Two of my favorite attractions are the Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Carribean. I don’t know why. They are the two with the least amount of activity. They are mostly just “sit and look” rides. They don’t whip and bend around space, through a mountaindash that takes you around the abominable snow man,or through some forbidden temple where Indiana Jones himself will save you. You mostly just sit and be watch the show. Man, what a show though!
Have you ever actually looked up during the big battle scene on Pirates? The sky in there just amazes me. The clouds… the scenery… it’s just a blast. Also, you have to eat at the Blue Bayou at least once. Granted the food is waaaaay overpriced for what you get but the atmosphere is just a hoot and only gets blown a little bit by the occasional loud mouthed teenager who thinks that they are just so clever in talking about how fake the whole opening scene on the ride is.
The Haunted Mansion on the other hand is just so cool to look at before you even get on the ride. The mansion itself, the adjoining grave yard. The “Doorless Room” entrance to the ride is always a blast and the announcer on the whole ride. Let’s not forget Madame Liottain the crystal ball! Man, I love this damn ride (if you do too and want to see a great site go to
Doombuggies.com).
Anyway, I spent a great day at the park today and I can’t wait to go again tomorrow.
