So the biggest news today is that fact that Ben Affleck has checked himself into rehab for alcohol dependency. Good for him.

I understand that there are some in the press that believe that those that are famous in this world of our sacrifice certain aspects of their privacy, but can anyone in this world please explain to me why exactly the fuck it is any of my business if Ben Affleck has a drinking problem and seeks help for it? Why the hell can’t the guy go and get the help that he has decided he needs
without the news from here to mother fucking Bangkok covering it?

Look at it this way: Every company I have worked at has had some policy with helping people to recover from alchohol or drug problems. An interesting thing about every one of these companies is that the employees trip to a place to recover has been kept secret and only the employee, HR, immediate supervisor and the medical coverage people know about it. It isn’t directly discussed.

So, now Ben Affleck has some type of problem and believes he needs to get help for it. I wonder if the press might ever stop to think that maybe poor Mr. Affleck might have gone in sooner if he didn’t have the pressure of knowing that it would be covered by every form of print and broadcast within hours of checking in?

I’m sorry, but I really think that there has to be a certain point where we, the public, just don’t have the right to this kind of knowledge. This is part of the mans personal life, fighting his own personal demons and trying to expunge them. Does the public really have the right to this information? Does he deserve to have every Tom, Dick and Harry know about his quest to cleans himself and get better? Fuck no.

Let the man heal in peace I say.

Sorry for being so heated about this but I just had to say that.
